 The mission of the Perquimans County Blueway / Greenway Project is to enhance the quality of life for residents of and visitors to Perquimans County and to preserve the natural, historical, and cultural resources, and landscapes by developing a system of land and water trails and routes for non-motorized traffic. This will provide health, recreational, and educational opportunities, and economic development for the county.
- Build grassroots community support for understanding Blueway and Greenway trail systems
- Develop consensus among partners for trail location and usage, including recreation, health, nature tourism, preservation and conservation
- Identify appropriate funding sources for future trail development and implementation
- Become part of the East Coast Greenway Designation
